Water Supply

  1. 15 was already on the c side laying attack line before command gave us task of laying hydrant line to E1. I had checked the intersection of 14 and Hilyard prior to moving to C side and found it congested with 13 and T1. L6 was supposed to supply 15 but we never got that????? IDK what happened there. We never ran out of water but didn't flow much either. We did cool down the charged smoke coming out the 2nd floor window prior to entering. Must of worked because there wasn't much heat. E1 might have helped that also.

  2. Awesome Mike! Thanks for joining the discussion.
Congestion happened rather quickly on 14th no doubt. Were you solo on C side? How many residents were outside when you pulled up?
I imagine the charged smoke was a result of E1 throwing water down the hallway, and perhaps "hydro-venting" when trying to find the seat of fire.

  3. Derek I know we had nothing showing on arrival, if you would have seen a header enroute would you have taken in your own supply? Olsen, if you can figure out how to use a computer and weigh in, what were your thoughts on a supply line and the lines you had off? Mike did you consider taking water with you to the C side?

  4. I'd rather use a booster tank initially to allow for a quicker attack on the fire. Especially in town with engines on your tail. If I was traveling away from help (in an outlying station) I'd probably reconsider though.
